International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and purpose at D.K. Convention Hall, Itanagar, under the theme “Give to Gain.” The programme was organised by the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women.
The event brought together multiple stakeholders, organisations, and community groups to honour and celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women. The programme highlighted key issues concerning women’s wellbeing, safety, dignity, and empowerment through cultural performances, awareness sessions, and community outreach initiatives.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Rural Works, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism & Libraries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, and Smti. Dasanglu Pul, Hon’ble Minister for Women & Child Development, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, as the Guest of Honour. The programme was also attended by Smti. Tsering Lhamu Advisor to the Hon’ble Minister, WCD & Planning, along with several distinguished dignitaries.
Warm congratulations were extended to all the recipients of the Women Achievers Award. Their dedication, leadership, and accomplishments serve as a powerful inspiration, reminding us that when women progress, families, communities, and the entire State move forward together.
The celebration was further strengthened by the participation and collaboration of various organisations and groups including Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (AWWS), Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), Durex – The Birds and Bees Talk, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Itanagar Cycling Group, who collectively contributed to spreading awareness and promoting the cause of women’s empowerment.
